A solid weekend for the Pierre Governor wrestling teams with both the girls and boys defeating Huron on Friday and then winning tournaments as a team on Saturday.

The Pierre Governor wrestling teams would both defeat the Huron Tigers on Friday both running away with the score. The Governor boys won 62-9 and the girls 35-6.

The Governor boys would get eight pinfall victories to record 48 of the 62 points as Walker West, Alex Oedekoven, Tristan Spencer, Max Hunsley, Jaxon Ducheneaux, Lucas Chamberlain, Chance Carda and Lucas Colman all had fall wins. Jacob Mason, Lincoln Shoenhard, Trey Lewis and Elijah Boutchee also had wins on the evening.

For the Governor girls, Sydney Uhrig, Londyn Allen-Hunsaker, Lexie Hillmer, Kezrey Benning and Emalee Larson would all get pinfall victories for the Govs while Shaylee Speck would also pick up a major decision victory for the 35 total points. Overall, the Govs lost three matches between the girls and the boys dual.

Then on Saturday the Governor boys would win the Les Tlustos tournament in Brookings with a score of 225 overall. Tristan Spencer, Jaxon Ducheneaux, Trey Lewis and Chance Carda would all win individual championships while Lincoln Shoenhard would also reach the title match for the weekend.

The girls team would win the Lee Wolf Invitational edging out Canton by six points 231-225. Sydney Uhrig, Lexie Hillmer and Abbigail Lewis would all win individual titles while Dani Ringstmeyer, Kezrey Benning and Ireland Templeton would also reach the championship match.
