The Stanley County Buffaloes would split its final doubleheader of the calendar year as the Herreid/Selby Area Wolverines would win the girls game 37-25 but the Buffalo boys would take it 69-47 in the nightcap.
The Lady Buffaloes tried to make a late push and pulled within 10 late in the fourth quarter but the final shots wouldn’t fall in the last minute of the game and the Wolverines would keep the separation they would need to improve to 3-2 on the season while the Lady Buffs will fall to 0-7 on the season.
In the boys game though, Stanley County would jump out to a 15-3 lead and continue to cruise past the Wolverines to go to 2-3 on the year. The Buffaloes did get the running clock in the fourth quarter to help speed up the game. Broch Zeeb would have 22 points to lead all scorers while Eddie Duffy would punch in 13 and Austin Boxley had 12.
Stanley County will jump right back to action in the new year as they will travel to the Hyde County Auditorium to take on the Highmore-Harrold Pirates on Tuesday in a girls and boys doubleheader.
