The Oahe Lady Capitals would finish with a 4-4 draw in the first game of the season Saturday afternoon on the road against the Mitchell Marlins.
Oahe would take a 2-0 lead in the first period as Sophia Bales would stuff home the first goal of the game before Brylee Kafka would make it a two goal at the end of the first. However, in a span of a minute and 21 seconds, the Marlins would score three times to take a 3-2 lead as Reese Amick, Vaya Mimmack and Brynlee Sabers would all score. But, 38 seconds later Brenna Ullman would tie the game back up 3-3 after two periods. In the third, Kakfa would get her second of the game to give the Caps a 4-3 advantage early on before Sabers would tie it up midway through the third. The game remained tied and would end 4-4 after a 10 minute overtime period. Sophia Peschong would make 30 saves in net for the Capitals as the Marlins outshot the Caps 34-33.
