The Potter County Battlers would get a representative on both sides of the ball, the Jones County Coyotes with a special teams member and the Sully Buttes Chargers with an honorable mention for the Class 9B All-State team.
Gavin Barber, of the Sully Buttes Chargers would gain an honorable mention for the Class 9B All-state team as the running back earned his way into the offense and was a nice surprise for a 3-6 Sully Buttes team who had one of the toughest schedules in the 9-man. Because of the tough schedule the Chargers would place seventh and earn a home game in the first round of the 9B playoffs.
The Potter County Battlers had seniors Ryder Falkenhagen and Carter Luikens receive All-State honors after a near Cinderella run to the DakotaDome. The Battlers were the 11 seed and won back-to-back games on the road to play in the 9B semifinals. Falkenhagen, the wide receiver, and Luikens the defensive back were big senior leaders to help lead the run for the Battlers.
The Coyotes would get senior Cooper Feddersen on this year’s All-State team special teams. Fedderson had a 78 yard kick return for a touchdown while also being the Jones County punter. He averaged nearly 40 yards per punt on 23 total for the season. Feddersen helped flip a lot of fields and pin opponents much farther back.
