After splitting a doubleheader with Huron on Monday, Pierre Post 8 will play its final games of June tonight as they host the Rapid City Post 22 Hardhats.
Post 22 is already 2-0 against Pierre this season with wins on Saturday and Sunday, June 10-11 with a 10 run-rule win and a walk-off win. It’s one of six different one run games Post 8 has dropped against South Dakota opponents. Post 22 is coming in at 30-18 overall in the season and are 11-6 in South Dakota games. The Hardhats have dropped three of its last four games against South Dakota opponents, but overall have won five of the last seven games in total going 4-2 in Omaha, Nebraska last weekend. For Pierre, they are now 4-16 in South Dakota games and are 5-4 overall in its last nine games in total at now 5-19. The Eights will be in a much better spot to clinch a spot into the playoffs with at least a split with the Hardhats tonight.
