This weekend, Pierre Post 8 will be looking for its first wins of the season, but do so against two tough opponents in Rapid City Post 22 and the Casper Oilers.
Pierre will face Post 22 in a single game on both Saturday and Sunday, but will also play the Casper Oilers out of Casper, Wyoming on Sunday morning. The Eights are 0-7 to start the season, but have played two different one-run ballgames against Aberdeen and Sioux Falls East. If the Eights can control the walks, Pierre will find themselves in each of the three games this weekend.
The Post 22 Hardhats are 19-11 on the season, but went 2-2 over Tuesday and Wednesday in Brookings. The Hardhats dropped two of the three games against the Bandits splitting Tuesday’s doubleheader and then also falling 5-2 on Wednesday. Post 22 beat Aberdeen on Wednesday 7-5.
The Oilers of Casper, Wyoming are 10-6 on the season heading into the weekend. Capser is 3-1 against South Dakota teams splitting with Rapid City Post 320 on May 7 and beating Post 320 and Sturgis in a triangular this past Tuesday.
Pierre will face Post 22 on Saturday at 6:00 Central Time with coverage at 5:45. Then on Sunday the Eights will open the day playing at 10:00 AM against Casper and then at 2:00 against Post 22. Saturday and Sunday afternoon games will be on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports. Due to the church service Sunday morning at 11:00, the Pierre vs. Casper game will be a YouTube ONLY broadcast starting around 9:45 Central Time.
