Even though the Oahe Capitals would outshoot the Sioux Falls 1 Flyers Friday night on the road, the Flyers would pick up a 1-0 win over the Caps.
Max Mohr would score the lone goal of the game with 11 minutes remaining in the first period as Sioux Falls would outshoot the Caps in the first and third period, but the Caps would still net 41 shots on Ian Pattison. However, Pattison would make all 41 saves to stymie the high powered offense of the Capitals in his eighth win and fifth shutout of the season. Colin Lee would counter making 36 saves in net for the Caps and had a terrific game between the pipes. Mohr’s 16th goal of the season was the only shot to get by a goalie on the evening. Both teams went 0-4 on the power play.
The Capitals will quickly turnaround and play the Mitchell Marlins on Saturday at home. Coverage will start at 5:40 with puck drop at 6:00 on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
