There was little separation in the first three sets on Monday in Tulare but the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots would defeat the Sully Buttes Chargers 25-23, 29-27, 27-29 and 25-18.
In sets one through the three the largest margin was a Hitchcock-Tulare four point lead. The Chargers were able to battle back in both sets two and three and force the game to continue and picked up a third set win. Although the Chargers fell in the final regular season game, once again the team was close to even a three set sweep with two losses coming with a two point margin. The Chargers finish the season at 13-16 and will await for the tournament to be set, but in all likelihood, it will be a rematch with the Potter County Battlers next week.
Hitchcock-Tulare improves to 13-15 with just one game left. The Patriots will travel to Wessington Springs tonight to finish the season against the 22-8 Lady Spartans.
The region tournament is scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 31 with the SoDak 16 qualifying games on Thursday, Nov. 3.
