The Pierre Governors were in control all night against the Huron Tigers en route to a sweep of 25-14, 25-19 and 25-19 to complete a season sweep of the Tigers.
Pierre had nine aces on the night to four service errors and took advantage of each mistake by Huron especially in the first set. Pierre created the separation late in the second set to win by six and controlled the third set, not allowing a replay of two weeks ago when the home team came back from an 0-2 deficit.
Lily Sanchez had the team high 10 kills as both Ayvrie Kaiser and Reese Terwilliger had seven and Makayla Sherwood had five for Pierre. Sanchez also had three aces while Kaiser finished with two. The Govs improved to 13-4 on the season while the Tigers fell to 15-8.
Pierre will have its final home match of the season on Saturday when they take on the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles on senior day. Coverage will start at 1:00 with first serve at 1:30 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
