The Pierre Governor golf team held on to second place after day one to take home second place, tied with Watertown at the Warrior-Lynx Invite. Pierre shot a 307 on Tuesday, which was fourth best on the day.
Sawyer Sonnenschein finished inside the top five at number five shooting a total 146, just ten shots off first place in the two day event. Sonnenschein had a 74, which was tied for sixth best on day two and closed out only five over par. Luke Olson also had a top ten finish at eighth, and finished at plus 10 for the event. Olson shot an 80 on day two after a 71 on Monday. Nick Bothun was only three shots behind a top ten finish with a plus 15, 156 which was tied for 13th place. Lincoln Houska and Jack Bartlett would each finish with a 163 on the two day event while Charlie Simpson would round out the Governors with a 178.
O’Gorman took home the team win with a remarkable score of 15 over par, 579, 29 shots better than Pierre and Watertown. Radley and Taten Mauney were first and second in the event. The senior, Radley placed first with a 136, five under par while Taten, a freshman was just one over par at 142. Both Mauney boys will be tough this year for O’Gorman.
