FORT PIERRE — The Stanley County Commission is meeting tonight at the Stanley County Courthouse. The Commission will meet in executive session for legal issues first before meeting with Emergency Manager Rob Fines. Highway Superintendent Lee Smith will meet with Commissioners on a number of items including utility and right-of-way certificates for the Bad River Road Plum Creek Bridge Project. Smith will also meet with Commissioners on behalf of the weed and pest board regarding a pickup. The Commission will discuss the fairgrounds, redistricting and the 2021 American Rescue Plan. Commissioners will also consider a new hire, automatic budget supplement, an annual financial commitment with the Central South Dakota Enhancement District, jail contracts with Hughes County and a resolution on property tax reform. Two more executive sessions are on the agenda for care of the poor and personnel. The Stanley County Commission meets tonight at five PM.
