PIERRE — The Hughes County Commission is meeting again in special session tonight as time is running out for the Commission to decide on insurance coverage for county employees for next year. Tonight’s 5:30 meeting is the third meeting to address health insurance for next year. The Commission is attempting to find a plan to cut back on a proposed premium increase of over 28-percent. Hughes County must have a health insurance plan in place for employees by December 15th. Commissioners have one more regular meeting before that December 15th deadline on December 6th, but meeting any later than tonight would make it difficult to get a new plan in place by the 15th.
