The Pierre volleyball team fell for the first time in 2021 as they would be swept by the Sioux Falls Washington Warriors with scores of 25-16, 26-24 and 25-17.
The Governors were down 5-0 early in the first set and would work their way back to make things even heading into the middle part of the frame but the Warriors would take things over and lead throughout the first set. In the second set, however, the Governors took a 2-1 lead and would hold onto that until the very end of the set. Leading 23-18, the Governors looked like they were about to even things up but the Warriors responded and finished out the set scoring six points in a row after trailing 24-20. The momentum that could have been for the Governors was stripped away and the Warriors were able to finish it out in the third set while leading throughout most of the set.
