The final spring sport to finish begins its state tournament Monday as all three classes will participate in the Golf state tournaments throughout South Dakota.
For Class AA the Pierre Governors are coming off strong performances on back to back days with the Govs competing in both Brandon and Mitchell last week placing high and improving in both. Pierre is playing its best golf heading to Brookings for the Class AA state championship as the entire team will be competing.
In Class B, Stanley County will be sending two players, both juniors to the state tournament, Lathan Prince and Daysen Titze while Sully Buttes will send Gavin Colson, a seventh grader and senior Garrett Peterson along with eighth grader Olivia Olsen on the girls side.

Pool says in the last week, they’ve been out playing including a practice round in Brookings over the final week…
And Pool says what the Chargers golfers need to do to be successful in Brookings…
Although the team was small this year for Stanley County, head coach Ryan Royer says he was happy with how every athlete wanted to get better, even those that didn’t make the cut for the state tournament…
Royer says for both Prince and Titze is to be consistent off the tee box…
And Royer says they had a competitive region to get into the state tournament and he says that could be a big factor heading into the two day event…
Class AA will tee off in Sioux Falls beginning at 8:10 but Pierre will have their six golfers start at 9:10 through 10:00 in six different pairings.
