The start of the Pierre Tennis dual was delayed because of precipitation that fell at Griffin Park. However, up at LaBarge, the tennis courts were dry so the Governors and Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles began its dual on the two courts an hour later than scheduled. Unfortunately for the Govs, the courts didn’t bring much luck as Aberdeen took the dual 7-2.
After winning the first set in Doubles Flight 1, Matthew Hanson and Blake Judson were unable to win the second set and fell in the tiebreaker to begin the day. However, Hanson did overcome losing the first set in Singles Flight 1 to winning the second set and tiebreaker as he and Luke Leingang, winning 2-0 in Singles Flight 3, were the two winners on the day.
The Governors will now be in Brookings next Thursday to face Brookings and Milbank in a triangular.
